Unhappy 07 equinox rear end grease

Does anyone know if there is a product out there to use in lue of the very expensive Versitech oil for the rear end of my veh. In talking to some local shops, there r different opinions.. Some say I can use the amsoil 75w90w in place of. Then others say "only" use the GM brand Versitech. What would be the right oil?

Re: 07 equinox rear end grease

The VERSATRAK fluid is for the transfer case, not the diff. The diff takes 75-90 synthetic fluid.

Re: 07 equinox rear end grease

Gmtech1 tells me that rear end oil for the 2006 equinox was a 75w90 . That info I found out was incorrect. Local sales agents and GM mechanics tell me that If u use anything besides the Versitech oil that It will ruin the clutches in the rear end.. Must use Versitech Oil. Info I got from this individual was wrong! Beware. Makes me a sceptic.

Re: 07 equinox rear end grease

Also, are you sure you have a '07? 2006 shows VERSATRAK for the rear diff and the transfer case. '07 shows synthetic 75-90 for the diff. Is the 10th diget of your VIN a 6 or a 7?

LOL, I just saw this. Your thread title says '07 Equinox, yet you say its a '06. Hmmmm...the info I gave you is correct for a '07. If you had your info titled correctly, I would have given you the correct info for a '06. Which is stated above.
