4g63 / 4g64

what would it take for the 4g64 to run like a 4g63?

its the engine that came in the non turbo spyders, it need more torque since it was heavier, so they gave it the 2.4L

As I understand it, 4G63T was the turbo version; 4G63 was the non-turbo version of the 2.0L twincam ?

While we're on the subject, does the 4G64 use the same mounts/transfer case as the 4G63; I have a Galant, and want more power. So far I thought of using an early Evolution 4G63T to up the stakes a bit, but I'm now wondering if the 4G64 might be a better long-term idea [as U can imagine, space isnt a problem, but if it'd be a pain to line up I'll stick to the Evo plan]

First off there are no AWD 4G64 powered cars. Second, the 4G64 and 4G63 come from the same casting so the blocks are identical. If you want to up the displacement you can either stroke your existing block with a 4G64 crank and custom pistons, or swap in a whole 64 bottom end which is also just a bolt on affair.

Peace

ummm....Doesn't marco from magnus motorsports run a 4G63/64 setup with AWD drive assembly? I heard that he is running 10's on that car without even trying.

I am aware that there are plenty of people out there running 64 hybrids including the guys at Magnus that pioneered the swap.

Here he refers to a 4G64 T-case. I was pointing out that no Mitsu car from the factory came with an AWD drivetrain and a 2.4L engine. Thus there is no 64 T-case and no fittment issues with the drivetrain. I was just telling him that the hybrid longblock bolts in with no problems.

Ahhhhh, gotcha. Then let me say that you are 100% correct.
