UT Models Door Hinges

Over the years, I have collected various UT Models 1:18 scale F1's. As I was looking for the cheapest I could get as I was going to dismember them, repaint them etc. I was not bothered about door hinges being broken, mirrors missing, wipers and rear wings etc. Having seen the rocketing prices of these models and having recently bought one that arrived poorly packed and sustained considerable damage (yes those infernal door hinges) I have started to consider trying to get them as near to A1 condition as possible.
To this end does any of our membership have any ideas if or indeed where it would be possible to get replacement, hinges, wing mirrors, wipers etc?
Failing that I am considering getting a batch of said items replicated by the lost wax process probably in either brass or aluminium. I am sure if I were to produce these there would be a good number of other owners of such models willing to buy some.
Any ideas or comments most welcome.

Re: UT Models Door Hinges

I've just spent the last few minutes searching eBay for such items to help you out - I saw a set recently of the ancillary items [most / all the car except the main body] but am drawing a blank at the moment

Or you could try this route -

I'm not affiliated with this seller, but this popped up on my saved searches list earlier today:

$100 BIN for 3 UT road cars (all silver) and broken in various ways.

Re: UT Models Door Hinges

I managed to repair the one I bought from a car in shall we say less than sound condition, and its interesting that the most vulnerable mirror seems to be the left hand side?
Will look into the places mentioned but still think long term a stronger part may be the way to go in the future.
Many thanks for all of the assistance.

Re: UT Models Door Hinges

How much are you looking to spend? I have and old model at home i tried to repaint and i didn't like how it turned out. I think the door hinges work. I'll make sure to check next time i'm home. I also have the mirrors for the car (separate, unpainted)

Re: UT Models Door Hinges

It would probably not be worth the cost of shipping from the usa but many thanks for the offer.
