no directionals,4 way flash or breaks
My 1996 F150 exten cab, v8 today has no directional,4 way flasher and break lights. head and running lights work and all fuses check ok. In the engine compartment fuse panel there are square units which I think are breakers but not sure?
I do need some ideas of what I'm missing and appreciate any help. Pete |

Re: no directionals,4 way flash or breaks
I think a bad multi-function switch could cause all those things to not work. Just a guess.

As I don't have a book do you have any info as to where the multi function switch is?
Any testing suggestion are welcome. Pete |

Re: no directionals,4 way flash or breaks
The multi-function switch is the turn signal switch, the dim and bright switch for your headlights, the windshield wiper and squirter switch, and possibly others, thus the name muli-function switch. It is located inside the steering column connected to the turn signal lever.
I suggest a Haynes repair manual that covers the 1996 F-150. Some of the auto repair places may have one on hand. |
