Tacky paint
Ok, so I've used rattle cans for ever. Never had any problems. Lately it seems that my paint is still tacky even after drying for a few days. I paint outdoors, bring stuff inside(70 degrees) and let it dry for a day. Lately I have just shot a layer of clear over but its a waste of time to do that. Is it something I am doing or did paint companies change something?

Re: Tacky paint
I've had this problem before during the summer when the humidity is high. Paint remained tacky for a very long time...up to a week! I don't even work on my models during the summer for this reason. (that & I work on 1:1 in the summer anyhow)

Re: Tacky paint
I don't like to buy testors cans...never get a good finish. I buy tamiya for special colors, color place from walmart for generic colors like gloss and flat black, whites, primer grey, and any other colors that catch my eye. But its mostly been the white by color place I've been having trouble with.

Re: Tacky paint
My number one recommendation would be to get a food dehydrator which greatly speeds the paint drying along.
Could be they have changed the paint formula as well.

Re: Tacky paint
I've used the walmart flat black and primer for mostly unseen parts, or under chassis coat. Never on a body tho. That never dried evenly, always swirls in the paint. But agree, you need to control the environment around the paint area too
