what year are my tail light parts?

I picked these up at an estate sale today and the guy said that they might be off a '56 Chevy but I haven't been able to find any photos of cars where it looks like them.
Does anybody recognize them?
I'm a photographer and like the way they look.
Thanks for any help.

Re: what year are my tail light parts?

I'm pretty sure they aren't off a 1956 Chevy - might be wrong though ? Automotive parts generally will have some sort of identifying mark ( i.e. - GM , Ford , Mopar ) on the back of the piece . Also likely to have a part number as well . Check there and update us on what you find .

Re: what year are my tail light parts?

Here's a photo of the only marking I could find.
Thanks for telling me to look because otherwise I would have never seen these
Do they tell you anything?
It looks to me like it says;
C5 CBC
392 0823 LH
the last number or letter is real hard to read even in person.

Thanks!

Re: what year are my tail light parts?

They appear to be the front fender trim ( or endcaps ) from a 1968 Impala SS with hidden headlights . At least it appears to me that they match what's on this car - agree ?

Re: what year are my tail light parts?

Yes, Sir,
I think you've got it!
Thank you sooo much.
I was born in '55 and was hoping that was the year they were from.
I am a native San Franciscan and was here in '68. What a great year!
I have a little story to tell about my trim pieces when I display the photographs now.
Thanks again
