Paint Restoration: oxidation/fading
At the risk of being chastised for not tracking down any earlier similar thread, I'm going to go ahead and start a new thread. I've spent the past 40 minutes trying to find a thread which addresses by quesiton without success. If it's there somewhere I apologize.
I've got a 2005 Toyota Matrix. The paint job is a dark blue. I live in the Sacramento Valley and my car is in the sun every day. As a result, the paint on the hood and roof of the car has faded and (I think oxidized) somewhat. I'm looking for advice on how best to restore and protect the paint (if it's not already too late) Which products should I use? Turtle Wax, Meguiars, NuFinish etc? What should I use first to remove the oxidation and restore the paint? What should I use after that, and going forward, to protect the paint? How often should I reapply the protection, be it wax, or polish or whatever? Thanks in advance for your advice! Incidentally, I also had a question about restoring headlights...but I found an old topic for that one! Thanks again, JediDad |

Re: Paint Restoration: oxidation/fading
Or... go to youtube and put " Meguiar's Training Video -How to wax your car " into the search function ! It is a 49 minutes + video that should answer your question - good luck !

Re: Paint Restoration: oxidation/fading
There are two types of vehicle paintwork, clear coated and single stage. Clear coated has a clear lacquer that protects the paintwork underneath. pinterest invites
