Side Mirrors Adjustment-intermittent.

The adjustment button (switch) for pitch & scan of side view mirrors is intermittent.
My question is:
Should I pry up the decorative panel on top of the driver's armrest to get at the switch contacts or do I need to remove the door panel ?

Generally, you have to remove the whole plate that houses the PW switches and the switch for the mirrors....then disconnect harness and remove the switch and replace it....

TechII....... thanks for the reply.
But, is the plate you refer to on top of driver's armrest that is covered by a decorative plastic surface that can be pried up?

Yes, they call it an escutcheon or trim plate......unfortunately, if you don't pry in the right place, you can break it......sometimes the locking tab is in the front, sometimes in back.....

Re: Side Mirrors Adjustment-intermittent.

TechII... thanks fo the info.
That's what I was concerned about. I will use a shim strip to slide under & around the trim plate to locate any locking tabs. Before I poked around I needed to know if the access was by way of the trim plate.
Thanks again for the info.
