Good place to start learning about cars?

Hey guys, i get my real license soon and the car i'm going to be getting is my dad's 02 Toyota Camry LE. It has a 2.4 liter I4 engine. I know, not real sporty car but the good part is i dont have to pay anything for it being as it is my dads car currently. I have a job right now and i was thinking about upgrading some engine parts to make it a little more fun to drive. Problem is, i don't really know much at all about car engines or upgrading them. How did you guys learn? Is there any website that tells you all about this stuff? Where should i go to get more information?
