2004 Trailblazer Odometer and DIC won't light
I have a 2004 Trailblazer. The odometer and DIC won't light. I pulled the cluster and check all solder connections. (I'm pretty good with that stuff)
I flexed the board.. tugged, pulled and tapped... Nothing... Will anybody help me? Stuart Registered Auto Locksmith [email protected] Last edited by stu777; 08-30-2012 at 09:54 PM. Reason: Add Info |

Re: 2004 Trailblazer Odometer and DIC won't light
I have heard--but not experienced--that Trailblazer clusters are prone to problems.
Seems to me that Dorman is big into selling "rebuilt" clusters, although Dorman quality leaves a lot to be desired--pretty much their entire product line is bought-in from Communist China. (I don't know where the clusters are repaired) http://www.dormanguide.com/instrument-cluster.html http://www.dormanproducts.com/gsearc...%3DTRAILBLAZER I know that repair instructions are on the internet for the electronic cluster found in late-80's, early 90's Toronados/Rivieras, perhaps repair instructions are also available for Trailblazer. Never looked. This all assumes that the wiring and body computer are intact and functioning--the problem is in the cluster and not elsewhere in the vehicle.

END trade with Communist China. |
