Race mini tamiya 1/24 16v

hello all, another mini by me as my van is almost done i wanted to do a race mini
this is what i started with, but want to make a racer thats a bit different

so i managed to get some wheels from a 1/20 six wheel f1 car

and i want the engine to look different and put my (limited) skills to the test, so i will try to make it look like this, the KAD16v conversion to make it look more of a racer.

so had a go at a scratch built head, i am pleased with how it turned out for my first attempt

more soon

i used the same wheel/tyre on an opel kadett about 34 years ago, looked good then, but they have melted now. your cyl head looks good. keep going.

Re: Race mini tamiya 1/24 16v

bit more scrathin, made a DIS pack for the plug leads, and some cam pullys out of the kit wheels, looks ok i think

also had a idea for the carbs, found these out of the spares box and after a bit bit of mods look a bit like 40DCOE webbers

camera does not like close ups

Re: Race mini tamiya 1/24 16v

also removed alternator and made some belt pullys out of some styrene rod

and used the old fuse wire trick for the oil cooler feed, and blanked off the distributer hole

Re: Race mini tamiya 1/24 16v

started on the floor pan removed the seat fixins

removed inner wings and added some styrene rod to make it look good

also removed the boot floor as i wanted this to be smooth and opened up the shock mounts as the kit shocks no longer fit as wheells are to wide

also added some detail to the floor pan to make it look more like a stripped interior floor, like a real one

im working on the engine at the moment so more very soon

Slightly insane I'd say, but really cool.
Some nice scratchbuilding you're showing here. I'm really eager to see the final result.
