ford falcon historic racer

just started this model. made by trumpeter in 1/25 scale. i intend to build it up as a historic touring car as raced today. the mouldings are crisp, the engine is a very good quality moulding.
my personal critisism is that the rear floor of the shell looks to have been taken from a drag car, rather than a road version. this is my first area to sort out. i have made a new transmission tunnel master and vac formed a new one, i have cut out the rear floor and will make a new one, with vac formed inner arches.

Re: ford falcon

i have done a bit more to the floor now. i think it looks like a proper car now. i will do a little bit more filling, then move to the interior floor, after that i will make a roll cage.

Re: ford falcon

put some paint on the floor, i can see where its going now, will put a blue stripe and roof on it in a few days, then i will wait to let the paint harden off for a couple of weeks before fitting it up.

Re: ford falcon

Nice to see one of these built in racing form.
Bosse Ljungfeldt, a swedish rallye driver, drove one of these in the Monte Carlo rallye.
Have a look here if you didn't know about this excellent driver.

Keep it up!
Niclas

Re: ford falcon

have sprayed stripes and roof in subaru blue, i think it will look good when all the trim is bare metalled with aluminium. i will let the paint harden up before any more work is done to the body. what do readers think of the colours.
