Post 2000 Taurus power antenna

Hello forum, I'm trying to add a power antenna to my 00 Taurus sedan. I got a good working antenna from a wagon. And i am stumped to which wires i can tap into at my RCU. If i had known better, i should have gotten the whole RCU from the donor car. My question is do any of yuo knowledgeable guys know which wires to tap or is it easier to jus get the whole unit from a wagon. There are 4 wires from the antenna. Any help will be helpful, Thanks

Re: 2000 Taurus power antenna

If something works, why fix it?
I have fixed a few broken automatic antenna's, they are not the most reliable.

Caution - radio must be turn off prior to entering the car wash.

There's plenty of fixed traditional antennas @ your local salvage yards.

Re: 2000 Taurus power antenna

From the wiring diagram for the 2000 Taurus there is a Red/Orange wire in terminal location 17 of connector C388b of the RCU which is one lead to the power antenna. From the diagram it appears to be hot when the key is in the Run or ACC positions. This wire connects to terminal location 3 of the OEM power antenna module. Terminal 4 of the power ant is ground (black wire) and terminal 1 of the power ant is a Dark Green wire which comes from the Central Junction Box fuse F226 (10 A) and is hot at all times. Terminal 2 of the power ant connector is a Red/Pink wires from terminal 10 of C388a of the RCU. I don't have access to the connector pinout here at work so I'm not sure of the function of the Red/Pink wire. It almost appears from the psuedo block diagram like it may be the FM signal wire from the antenna.

Re: 2000 Taurus power antenna

Please post if you get it to work. I tried everything I could think of to get one working on my '02 sedan and finally just gave up.
