need details on your vehicle .

I have a another question for you.

How do you know for sure it is a false code ?

with a corroded throttle body , this is not a normal condition in any way.

Re: Dirty Throtle Body

I just recently had to replace my Knock sensors in my 05 crew cab 5.3. When it was in the shop they told me my throttle body was dirty and needed to be cleaned, its causing my idle to be lower than usual and making my lights to pulse because my alternator rotates slower than usual causing my Service Charging system and battery light to flash occasionally, however they were not related. I got the sensors replaced and its not throwing codes at me for the moment, Throttle body cleaning will be this weekend.

the idle should be 600rpm in gear. if lower the throttle body/IAC must be cleaned with THROTTLE BODY CLEANER.

DO NOT USE CARB CLEANER !

with the battery/alternator issue measure the voltage at the battery and at the alternator output wire. this must be 13.75volts to 14.75volts dc with all the lights/hvac on max..

the alternators do fail with these vehicles. the regulators corrode.

buy a new alternator not rebuilt. these can be had with a lifetime warrantee. [delphi] autozone .
