94 Cavalier RS 2.2 Reverse light problem

ok so i just bought a 94 Cavalier RS 2.2 standard, all works great except cigarette lighter and 1 of my reverse lights,

1)Cigarette lighter, everytime i go to use the cigarette lighter it blows the fuse as soon as i push in cig lighter. i am using the right fuse wich is a 15,

2) this one is annoying me, only one of my back up lights work, i pust car in reverse and only the right side reverse light comes on, but not on the left side. i tried replacing the bulb and it still did not work, i tested the bulb on right side and it worked fine, so i know it wasnt a bulb, i replaced the light socket on the nonworking left side and tested it again and the left side still did not work.

any solutions to why only the right side will work but not left side?

Re: 94 Cavalier RS 2.2 Reverse light problem

Is there anything inside the lighter? like a dime? Is the lighter element corroded? If so, replace it. As far as the light goes, you need to check for power and ground at the socket, then start tracing wires, may find a break or poor connection.
