AC evaporator freezing
Usually happens after 20mins. I can hear the blower fighting the blockage. I then switch to eco mode and wait till the fan begins to blow again by melting the ice.
The garage did top off the freon to the max and installed a new cabin filter then blew out the condensing coils. Could the freezing be caused by just a tad over the limit or something else like a bad relay? |

Re: AC evaporator freezing
Your system is designed to NOT to cycle- so a relay bad would not cause this---
You have a bad control valve in rear head of compressor- it can be replaced without removing the compressor IFFFFF you can find a shop to do that without replacing the compressor- they will tell you it is not available, they are wrong- most parts house have them--the mechanic is just lazy- and has never tried this-- I am certain, it is the control valve UNLESS you have charged the system WITHOUT pulling a vacuum first.....air in the system does cause freeze-up.

Re: AC evaporator freezing
Before changing any valves, I would like a set of gages on this vehicle to see high and low pressures....
