2000 S-10 No Reverse

2000 S-10 has no reverse. I can hear a whirling sound when switching between reverse and neutral and similar when I shift to drive from reverse and back to neutral then reverse i hear the sound slow down and pic up as i shift. the trans was replaced aout two years ago at a tramsmission shop but is now out of warrenty.

I suspect torqe converter may be bad or that may be where the sound is coming from that I hear.

It seems like when i shift to reverse that i feel a faint slight twist of the drive shaft like it might start to go into reverse but then nothing.

Any sugestions?

Thanks

Mike

NO Reverse = pull it out and fix it or replace it.

Re: 2000 S-10 No Reverse

Is it shifting through ALL the forward ranges normally, without noises?

This is never good. Many times reverse is the first to go. Don't take it to the same shop if you are out of warrenty.
