driver's side brake light not working

98 dodge caravan 3.3L v6

all lights work including driver's side tail lights. only problem is that when pressing brake pedal, the driver's side brake light does not light up. i changed the bulb and checked the brake light fuse under the hood, but it was fine (as i guessed since the passenger side and middle brake lights work).

i took the assembly off and reseated the connector to the tail light assembly, but same issue.

any ideas?

You probably need a new twist in bulb holder. They tend to get hot and the plastic melts causing the metal connector to move. Also look inside the light assembly for any form of distortion

Re: driver's side brake light not working

Are you seeing 12vdc at the tan/white wire contact 5 when you hit the brakes? If yes then I'd suspect the socket or the sockets ground. If no then you may have an open wire between the brake switch and the socket or the splice between.
