Musk's car was originally one of the Ameritech F1s brought in for Gerd Petrik. I have the chassis number of Musk's car at home and can provide it later if no one beats me to it.
Apparently Petrik owned two F1s and I suspect the second one is now in the hands of Lawrence Stroll, the former CEO of Tommy Hilfiger and current owner of Le Circuit Mont Tremblant in Canada. >8^) ER |

I don't think Musk ever owned another one so that answer is yes. I do know that Musk's car was repaired by the factory following the accident.
I'll get you the chassis number later. It might already be in a thread around here though, so you may want to do a search on "Elon Musk" >8^) ER |

I've seen that site before, and if I had to guess, I would suspect that is either the Newport Autosport/Motorcars Intl F1 or the F1 that Bruce Canepa owns - or they could all three be the same car. I have spent time comparing the photos of those cars and it really wouldn't surprise me if they were all the same. Maybe someone else has more info on Canepa's car to confirm, or knows the whereabouts of the Neport Autosport F1 which I believe went to Motorcars Intl at some point. You never know if that is an old ad that was never removed from carclassic.com, and they don't give any info on the vehicle's location or owner so it's really hard to tell. As far as the color, I don't believe that would qualify for brown of any kind. It looks more like a dark metallic grey or titanium to me. >8^) ER |

Musk et al
Newport Autosport and Motorcars Int. brokered the same car - one of Gerd Petriks, #45 I believe. This is Musk's car. He wrecked it in 1999 and had it shipped to Woking, repaired, and back in 2000.
Canepa doesn't own this McLaren or any McLaren, or Bugatti, and only part of one 959. He is a legend (owner) in his own mind, IMHO. Like some others. McLaren is not happy with some of the information which certain visitors to their company have mentioned here. Or with the inference that somehow these certain individuals are McLaren "friends". |

If Canepa is not an F1 owner, then who's F1 is he displaying at various car shows, and in the case of the silver EB110SS, who's car was he displaying and selling?? You can't simply post contradictions to the info that is in wide circulation, without including any facts to back it up. If that McLaren doesn't belong to him, then who is the owner? Who would allow him to drive the car on public roads to different car shows for display? When I see him in June, I plan to speak directly to him about both these vehicles. If he tells me they are/were his cars then does that make him a liar as well? I recall your opinion of him in regards to the conversions of the 959's wasn't very high. As for McLaren not liking the info that is shared here, maybe they should do a better job of publishing the correct info so there can be no questions. Also gerd, you and faisal should really just agree to disagree because the negative posts back and forth from both of you really serve no benefit here. That's my .02¢ anyways... <Insert famous Rodney King quote here> >8^) ER |

I have no intention of responding to FK. The cars he possesses, his site says it all. I'll leave it at that.
I have the list of all Show and Display cars. Canepa is on there once for a 959. The three EB110s on the list belong to others. there are 30 959s here, 38 XJ220s, two J. Seinfeld Porsches (no 959), 13 McLarens -one withdrawn (Brenner), two never completed application (Lauren), a couple of later Minis, half a dozen Z1s, and a few other cars. As of the end of 2002, 150 cars. Three more F1s have been approved since then. The Fritz cars are not on the S&D list but Leno's is. I am aware of at least seven other F1s in the US not inlcuding three race versions. I know that when a certain 959 owner in Seattle had his car serviced and repaired that the person who was slightly involved in the original sale (Canepa) was not a person who would be in any way considered for assisting the owner on any issue. I have the original bill of sale and the estimate. Sam Cabiglio (Sam's Spa) in Long Beach did most of the interfacing on this car. Cabiglio is Seinfeld's car guy. |

You're right, it was 069, Wieringa. 068 has been here for some time and was approved earlier this year along with Jean's car but not in Jean's name. AS for proof, find it yourself, I did.
