Need help removing paint on body.

Well lads,
I was doing some detailing on my Renault Alpine - little known to myself I had silver paint on my thumb - and stupidly, ended up getting silver paint on the roof of it. Is there any way I can remove this? I tried using Tamiya acrylic thinner (X-20A) on a Q tip and rubbing it off, it's removed some of it, but not all. It's only very slight but to me it really ruins the overall look. Was hoping a decal would be going there to cover it but nope. Here's a pic:

Thanks for any help you can give
- Tomo

It's Tamiya Acrylic X-11 Chrome Silver. You can see it more towards the windows.

Re: Need help removing paint on body.

99% Isopropil Alkohol or even better the laquer thinner from Gunze => Mr. Color Thinner. This Thinner is not disolving/melting the plastic. I use it many times with very good results! But don't use normal Laquer thinner, this will melt the plastic imediatlly!

Re: Need help removing paint on body.

Rather than trying to remove the paint you could go over it with a very very light coat of the blue, while masking of the silver. If you use an airbrush you can get the degree of control to blend in the blue over the silver.

Re: Need help removing paint on body.

You still haven't answered what you painted the body with, but considering the amount of texture in the paint and the lack of a reflection from the light source, it certainly wouldn't hurt to attempt to carefully polish the entire paintjob, which should remove the thumbprint if the base color isn't too thin, while making the entire finish look a bit more realistic.

Re: Need help removing paint on body.

Hi Tomo.
Trying to help, I think you got the answer you ar looking for.
Isopropilic alcohol is the first option.
Polish the car is also a good option
and the third, mask the car and paint again that zone...
Tamiya's paint is easy to remove I think.
Hipe you can fix your model.

Re: Need help removing paint on body.

Just go over it very lightly with some Tamiya fine compound or similar on a cloth and it will polish off with ease.
