A/C controller not working?
I notice the A/C wasn't working...drivers side never got cold like the passenger's side. I took the car in and they're telling me all A/C components work and none leak. Tells me my controller cannot set the range properly to close the driver's side door to be able to blow cold air like the passengers. He mention there is a bulletin out regarding the air duct/door warping over time resulting in this condition. Tells me the new model controller has a fix and that it cost $900.
Does this sound right? I saw newer ones with the ECO button instead of A/C buttom like mine on Ebay going for $30-150. 99 intrigue with auto climate control |

Re: A/C controller not working?
Probably the cracked gear inside the driver's side actuator problem- just did one today-- does driver side actuator (above gas pedal) rotate as you go up and down on temp setting?-- if not then pull actuator off- open it up and see cracked gear-- I replace them with used actuator gears..

Re: A/C controller not working?
the heat temps work fine
this actuator, is found above the gas pedal? I take it I have to take off the fabric to get at it? What about the one behind the glove box? Can I get at it if I take out the glove box or does the whole dash have to come out? I do notice there is no puddle of water under the car as there once was. might have more then one problem here But thanks inadvance |

Re: A/C controller not working?
checked both actuators, even disassembled the passenger side. All seems to be working. Both doors only turn about a 1/4 turn so I assume this is correct.
one thing I must add I've been noticing foam coming from the drivers side vent from time to time. Wonder if it's leaking through the blend door since maybe the foam is ripping apart. |

Re: A/C controller not working?
took temps from center console while sitting in cool garage and ran car for 5 minutes
right side 54 left side 65 seems high? even after running car for 5 minutes there wasn't any water underneath and today is a ozone action day I'm leaning on the compressor being bad does anybody agree? |

Re: A/C controller not working?
Compressor isn't bad -- low refrigerant is paramount......65% of time....Compressor can't work with near nothing in it!

Re: A/C controller not working?
Most people with similar issues had what is already mentioned above.
#1. Low Refrigerant #2 Driver side blend door actuator You can completely disconnect the wiring and turn it on or off by hand to verify it is all the way on and then check temps. I had to do both last summer!
