Well ppl put the RB26dett into the 240z, with only very minnor changes to the engine mounts, so I dont think it will be much of a problem.

As far as I know nissan changed very little of the external layout of the block since the orginal 240z engine, after all if it aint broke dont fix it. So I believe the existing RB30 mounts will bolt directly to the RB25/26 block
The hardest job you will have will be mounting the gearbox, as I belive it will use a differnt mount, and possibly altering the driveshaft.

Then of course you have to make the big pig handle.

And if this dosnt get much more in the way of replys in a few days Ill move into the skyline forums for you, the guys there will be able much more experianced advice.

The RB25 gearbox wouldn't have too much trouble- the driveshaft'd need to be lengthened a little if my memory serves me right- I'm not too sure of the mounts in a VL- but there'd probably need to be modficaton done to them- seeing as the two gearboxes are different.

I have done this conversion and it all just bolts in! Use the VL engine mounts, and you simply need to drill a couple of new holes in the gearbox mount for the R33 five speed gearbox!
The manual tailshaft slides straight in! no mods needed.
