Yes I was wondering if someone could tell me why my fuse for the a/c and heater blower keeps melting!

Sounds like you have a short somewhere in that particular circuit ! Your ac / heater fan may have locked up and when you try to turn it on , it blows the fuse ? Does the fuse blow instantly or will the fan run for a short time ? Do you get any air movement out of the fan before the fuse blows ? Can you give us more info ?

The blower works fine! It will work on low,mid and high! It don't blow the fuse either! Its like it gets so hot it is melting the fuse!

The fuse is an intentional " weak link " in each circuit . So whether it is " blowing " or " melting " shows that particular circuit is " pulling " too much current therefore causing the fuse to destruct ! When you say the fuse " is melting " - do you mean that literally ? Are you saying the entire fuse ( body and all ) is melting or just the visible small loop of metal wiring ?

When this happens , does the metal loop of the fuse melt as well or is it basically still intact ? Is the fuse panel itself damaged or just the fuse ?

Re: 96 Ford F-150 a/c heater blower fuse

Only the fuse casing itself is melting! The metal components are staying intact! I did change the melted fuse and now every fuse i put in it blows and it burnt the fuse slot where my blower fuse goes! So now my a/c will come on but blower will not not blow due to fuses blowing now!

It sounds like you may have a short within the fuse box itself ! If the metal loop within the fuse is not blowing but the outer plastic fuse body is melting , it indicates to me that the fuse box itself is getting very hot ( dangerously hot ) . If it's getting that hot , then a fire is a possibility and you should get a professional involved to find the source ( cause ) of the problem . I'm sending you a PM with another suggestion that might help .
