Need help with 2000 Taurus Transaxle Warning Light
Can anyone please help with a problem I am having with my daughter's 2000 SE Taurus? The Transaxle Warning light blinks on and off whenever she is in "Cruise Control" mode. It never comes on otherwise. It takes a few minutes in Cruise mode before it comes on. I've checked for fault codes but none are registered in the memory. Car runs fine, just the annoying light. Thanks.

Re: Need help with 2000 Taurus Transaxle Warning Light
Welcome to the forum!
There will be codes stored from the transaxle light, unfortunately they require a high end scan tool to access them. Most of the consumer grade tools can only access powertrain codes which do not include full access to transmission codes. -Rod |

Thanks, Rod. My reader is pretty basic. Any idea why it only does it in "cruise"? I would guess if I had a real problem there it would have nothing to do with cruise control.
