Lifter Tick?

My GSX is making a ticking noise, it is real noticable at idle. for about a week i heard while driving, it would increase with engine speed and sounded like it was coming from the inside cam. but it would come and go and it hasn't done it for about 2-3 weeks any body else have this problem thanks.

P.S. Could it be my powersteering pump/pulley?

Redline on the next oil change. Cleared up 90% of the tick that hit both my VR4s

mavrins mistry oil

try marvins mistry oil, if you use normal oil, if you are using mobil one then don't.
add marvins about 1k before your next oil change. it cleans up the gunk. works well.
and at $2 a bottle can't hurt.
good luck

It's lifter tick, nothing short of replacing the lifters with upgraded models will do anything to remedy the cure. I upgraded mine to ones from the 3kGT. They have larger primaries & the oil doesn't get sludged up in them. That's the cause & problem with them. I have to look at home for the receipts on the exact model of them.

Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. Make the ba$tard chase you. He will follow.

I heard from a mate who's really into Evos that even the new Vs and VIs would tick after a few 000 Kms, it's jsut the way the engines are designed & nothing really to worry about, unless it gets REALLY bad all the time.

My 1990 4G63 with close to 100,000 Miles ticks at idle, and sometimes when driving gently , but it usually fades out as I "give it gas" and the oil pressure increases
