I have 2001 dodge stratus. 87k miles on it. 2 dr v6. I have a grinding noise that I can't identify. Its not a wheel bearing. It only makes the noise when I accelerate brake or go over a bump or pot hole. Which is most of the time in the city. Any idea what could be causing this. It doesn't make the noise when I push on the car up or down back or forth.

Re: 2001 stratus grinding noise
maybe a bad CV-joint.. I was told that mine which is a 04 stratus with 2.4L DOHC that the CV-joints were bad and thats what was causing my issue. However I think it is the wheel bearings on mine and bought them to replace just havent done yet.. I would think it would have to be one or the other..Do they get louder or gring more the faster you go??Almost has to be one or the other I would think.
