96' F150 no check engine light but..

I have a 96' f150 and I need to get the inspection done. When I had the guy put it on the state computer it shows 4 modules that need to clear but the check engine light has never been on . I have never heard of this nor has the mechanic I took it too. I have been driving the truck weekly and can't figure this out. Thanks in advance.

Rob

Re: 96' F150 no check engine light but..

i have heard of "historical" codes; meaning that they were recognized in the past but are no longer recognized as a malfunction. I am not sure of the technical term for this, but it normally means that a problem had existed but not on the present drive cycle.
