That is outstandingly beautiful. How did you achieve such realistic weathering? :o

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser VX 80, tamiya 1:24

Thnx. There's not much finesse to the weathering techs I used. It's mainly oil paints (different tones of brown, grey, white and black). Apart from that there was some dusty colorant. I applied it with a brush/ sponge. Near the wheel arches I "shot" the paint off the brush (also tried a toothbrush for its elastic and sprouty bristle - you get thinner and longer mud marks instead of splaches). I think that's all.

Nice job! I understand it's difficult to make a good paint job and then a tiny screw up leads to a plan B weathering but this is looking even better! The hood hinge is fabulous.

Nice Cruiser, looks very convincing.
I also like the trailer, where did you get this one?

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser VX 80, tamiya 1:24

Thanks for your comments guys.

The trailer is my first scratch project. It's based on sth like this:

http://ogloszenia.wp.pl/ciezarowe,Pr...,13682352.html

tho, the trialer I based my model on is my father's and there are some subtle differences like plywood floor panels, no spare, slightly different mudguard shape.

cheers

If anybody's interested in the trailer's W.I.P it's been here for a while:

Threads are written in an ancient and forgotten language but there's some picture documentation to follow.

Once again cheers.
