Squeak/groan when steering.
I have a 2000 Taurus SE with 120Km on it it. I've recently noticed a groaning or squeaking from he front of the car . It's not particular loud and it doesn't increase with speed. I had new struts installed late last year. The struts were a cheap off brand and came loaded with springs since the old struts had broken the springs.I wonder if it's possible the cheap struts are the cause of my noise? I'll try to get under it in a day or 2 to investigate.

Re: Squeak/groan when steering.
You might review this thread, and in particular post #5 for a suggestion on how to track down if the noise is really a ball joint or outer tie rod end.
