The version that I'm doing is Montecarlo Rally 2012 Dani Sordo - Carlos Del Barrio

and last progress until now, suspension sub-chassis and articulated suspension arms

Front bumper

The seats

CPU and handbrake

and the bodywork

I hope you like it, cuestions or suggestions are welcome.

Re: Mini JCW WRC MonteCarlo 2012 Dani Sordo 1/24

Wonderfull scratchbuilding, and a great choise of subject. Too bad that BMW wasn't ready to invest in rallying!

Just wondering, what was the reason to choose diecast mini as a base, whereas there is a Hasegawa's Mini available? Is that Diecast more accurate, or something else? Just curious, I haven't seen Hasegawas Mini yet, so I have no idea whether it's a nice kit or something else? At least Hasegawa's Mini would have had a solid roof, as I know?

Anyway, good luck with your project, will definitely follow this.

The main reason is that when I start the proyect the hasegawa model didn't exist, I see pictures of the Hasegawa 1 month ago and I have de diecast since december, the hasegawa is better but to late for me.

Re: Mini JCW WRC MonteCarlo 2012 Dani Sordo 1/24

Some progress on the inteior, the passenger footrests

pedals

and both painted

I don't like the details on the hood from the resine so I made my own mold

and the result

the new one and the old one

but not in the first try...

I made some progress on the front bumper

and the last for today the rollcage half made

Greetings!

WoWowwWoowww !!
incredible work, starting from a diecast is rarely the simplest way but it's a great lesson of scratchbuilding and model improvement.
Is your work supposed to be the prototype of the future MM24 model ?

Very nice build indeed. You are showing very fine building skills. Radiator and diffuser looks great. And the bodywork is starting to look good. I`m very curious about the rear wing. Are you gonna scrachtbuild this one complete or do you have a wing to start from?
