Rear HVAC/radio controls
I just traded the wife's Yukon on this Burb. Anyway, I am anal about detailing. I soldered new bulbs in the steering wheel controls, the radio and a/c panel lights are good. Also replaced a couple bulbs in the rear a/c and radio controller. After sharpying the chipped paint of the buttons I noticed the lights on the rear panel are intermittent. If they aren't working you can hit the console in the area of the controller and get them to come on. I pulled it out and apart to try to find the problem and couldn't, even with tapping of individual parts of the board with the back of a small screwdriver. Here's the only symptoms I have found, it is worse when cold. Once you get it on it stays on until you shut it off and it cools down, with that in mind I would think it was one of the peripheals on the board itself....
Also, the control works flawlessly, just the lights.... If you have any ideas shoot....

Re: Rear HVAC/radio controls
Still have the same trouble, only its worse. Have to smack the console a bunch now to get it to work. I don't care to troubleshoot, but do any of you have a decent schematic? All I have is the schematics on autozone.com...

Re: Rear HVAC/radio controls
Not spending money to look at one schematic. Got a wild hair last night, pulled it out of the console and was able to get it on just by pressing on the connector. Looked for loose pins and took the connector apart and tried to see a reason too and couldn't. I used some "gold" connector stuff in an aerosol can at church this am (I am on the tech crew so they have random things like that sitting around the booth, didn't help it though.) I am fairly sure that it is something in the controller itself though. Took it apart a few months ago and tried to find a reason for it and couldn't, guess I'll do that again and see if anything strikes me this time.....
