How many watts can my subs handle?

Ok, I got 2 12inch audiobahn subs in an audiobahn box. On the front of the box it says...800watt bandpass. I would like to get a 1400 watt max power 2 channel amp. Can these handle that? I doubt i will have it maxed all the time.

assuming you bought the bandpass package, I would have to say each sub rms at 400 each, so I wouldn't do that, but Deakins probably knows more, so ask him

If you have one sub it's RMS is 800. If you have two subs in the box then each sub RMS is 400. Also, if your amp is 1400 max, that should mean that it's 1400x1 @ 1 ohm. So it depends on your sub. Are they SVC or DVC? How many ohms are they rated at? I can tell you how to wire them to get the most out of your subs.

although some like my amp say, they max at 1200 by 2ohms, so it helps to look into the ohms and also that matters depending on your voice coil

be very careful about over-driving speakers in a bandpass box.

I was going to bridge the amp at 1ohm trying to get max power. The Subs are 4ohm.
This is the same as what i have....
