AC clutch not engaging

Vehicle: 02 4.7L Dodge quad cab 1500 sport, 4x2.
Issue: AC clutch not engaging.
TS done: Fuse checked OK, AC clutch relay OK, power through PDC check OK.
Question: I'm not sure what to check now, or how to check it.
Request direction.
Thank You.

Re: AC clutch not engaging

I would check to see if you have voltage to the clutch at the clutch connector. If you do i would say you have a bad clutch.

Re: AC clutch not engaging

Check that you have the proper level of refrigerant in it. If it is too low it will not engauge. If that is good You may be looking at a new compressor or clutch.

Re: AC clutch not engaging

Additional information: I noticed when testing the relay when I connect power to pin 30 and ground to pin 87 I could hear and feel a click in the relay but when I put the relay back into the PDC and apply power I did not feel or hear the relay engage. Could this relay still be faulty?

Thanks again for all the help.

I really don't think that the refrigerant is low, it was blowing nice and cold just before it quit working.

I will check this last due to the fact that I don't want to loose refrigerant by putting a gauge on it.
