Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition -- Tamiya 1/24

Done... and what a cracking kit!

I can't recommend this kit highly enough... superbly detailed and engineered, and a real pleasure to build. The only issue is those darn metal transfers, which I (finally) figured out that I should apply to some of the "spare" bits of decal, like the number plates, and then waterslide them into place. Colour is "homebrew" Carbon Black - Zero Paints black with some graphite powder - with a "Madagascar Orange" interior. The "Carbon Edition" has more visible carbon fibre interior and exterior (splitter plates and diffuser) and crackle-black coated exhausts.

bestest,
M.

Re: Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition -- Tamiya 1/24

If it is a "cracking kit" it is because you are a cracking modeller to have done it such justice. It is in my view, one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

The Carbon edition is stunning. I didn't think the DBS could be improved upon - and yet is has.

Well done to Tamiya for making an Aston Martin to to modellers like you who build them and share the pictures for fans (without skills) like me.

Great color combo, and very nice job on the FG Model wheels (which blow HobbyDesign wheels out of the water).

I had the same problem with my metal transfer - maybe the issue is that they stick better on gloss rather than flat finishes?

I just received this same kit. I ordered the FG wheels also.

However, I will be painting it this color.....
