i need to know where is the best/safest place for an aftermarket amp in my extended cab silverado

It really depends. I have self powered sub underneath the rear folding bench, for years. I said depends, cuz if you were in a high break in rate area, there's no safe place anyway. Depending on the center console design, you can hide one into storage compartment in it.
