2001 grand prix gt 3800
I have a 2001 grand prix the sel is on i checked it and p0171 is the code bank 1 system too lean what could cause it and how to fix it i replaced the sparkplugs and wires maf air filter and a coil pack and catalatyic converter somebody help please it is almost time to got to emissions and it must be fixed

could be a faulty injector leaking, you can switch the injector to another location and see if the lean condition moves.

Basically this means that your oxygen sensor in bank 1 "Pre Cat" detected a lean condition. Could be a number of issues or a bad 02 sensor causing your SES to activate.
Hopefully some others can weigh in and offer possible solutions.

Sorry, but I don't see how moving an injector will help in diagnosis of P0171? If it is an injector, the code still sets, so how does that help?
As Jonjon said, this means the pre O2 sensor is seeing a lean condition.....this could be caused by a number of things: vac leak, exhaust leak, bad MAF, bad/contaminated O2 sensor or O2 sensor wiring, low fuel pressure, fuel injector, etc.
