Old re-calls

Recently purchased a 1999 GT, 3800 motor, 114,000 miles from a used car dealer.

While me and a friend were installing some stereo stuff, he noticed that it didn't look like the one recall under engine and engine coolong descibed here, http://www.cars.com/go/recalls/rclMa...=&fill=results about the wire harness had been done on my car.

How would I go about finding out if ANY of the recall work had ever been done on my car now? I read about a 10 year limit of free work for recalls, but seems like this one didn't have a time limit, if I remember right? How about any of the others?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Posted this here also a few days ago, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...=949741&page=2 but didn't notice that a 3 year old thread! Thought I'd try a new topic.

Re: Old re-calls

Go to any gm dealer and ask them to look up recalls for your Vin #.
Then ask them to register you and your address to that VIN # so any future recalls will come to you and not any former owner.
cheers

Re: Old re-calls

That tells me how to get future recalls, which by now I would hope there wouldn't be any.

Would registering show those facts?

Thanks

Re: Old re-calls

Like Pfofit said, go to ANY GM dealer, and all they need is the Last 8 of your VIN#, and they can look to see if there are any "open" campaigns on your vehicle.....
