Mercedes-Benz Team Calsonic Delivery Truck and Trailer.

Revell kit, I've finished the cab. A lot of fitting issues with this kit on the cab, really lost my patience at times. Came out rather well though I think!
Kit is this:

Kit was donated by my brother, who bought it years ago but never built it. I'm going to make the trailer once my decals arrive, I've had to buy another Calsonic R32 to get 1/24 Calsonic decals. I'm going to make the door of the trailer open, so that I can have a display with a Calsonic race car sitting in the trailer. Here's some pics of the cab, tell me what you think so far please! I know it's not perfect as the kit really was a bugger at times, but I've tried my best. The wheels keep coming out of the tires, I need to fix that.

I hope to get pics of the trailer WIP once I get it started.
Thanks for looking!
- Tomo

Looking good so far, my brother in law has this kit that he'll never build so i think a bit of persuasion is needed to add it to my stash

Can't wait to see the updates!

Haha might give his car a wash at the weekend then :P

I think the sunroof would look a bit better if it got a light misting of smoke over it

Seems reasonable! This kit ain't bloody cheap, I checked it out on eBay.. almost considered selling it instead of building it!
How would I do that? Thanks!

Haha tell me about it! He has started it so i wouldn't get much :P

If your using spraycans, Tamiya do "smoke" in their range, if your using an airbrush loads of companies do smoke. Or just mix your own with semi-gloss black extra reduced

Re: Mercedes-Benz Team Calsonic Delivery Truck and Trailer.

Only thing is though, the only place around here that sells Tamiya spray is Belfast, and that's a long way from here. And unfortunately, I don't have any airbrush stuff, would love to get some though!

Annnd I kinda spent all of my money buying paint, primer, a Calsonic R32 for decals and a Skyline R30. So the Smoke's gonna have to wait. :P How is it applied though? Is it like a clear black or...?

Re: Mercedes-Benz Team Calsonic Delivery Truck and Trailer.

Glue was dropped by lovely brother onto the door as it was sitting on the desk, and it went through the paint. Gonna see about spraying from the can into something and brush painting the blue on to cover it.

oh that explains it. better redo the whole door and front quarter section just to make sure the paint's even.

Re: Mercedes-Benz Team Calsonic Delivery Truck and Trailer.

Give the door a light sand with 340 grade paper, mask off any part thats arent blue (grill fascia) and lightly mist coat on your blue and give it some clear, polish and it should be good as new.
