Lotus Seven
I'm going to build Lotus Seven, more or less as shown on refererence pictures below, which are from Motor Klassik magazine.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For basis I took Tamiya's Lotus Super 7. It's quite simple model, but on the other hand, there is all you need; complete engine, interior, option for open body, even PE part is included. Here end there are some inperfections on plastic, but nothing critical. ![]() ![]() ![]() I cut off front fenders for a start. Lots of sanding followed. ![]() ![]() Tamiya models are known for it's accurance and good fitting of parts. Unfortunately parts of this Lotus didn't fit perfectly together, I had to make some adjustments. ![]() ![]() According to reference pictures, front end of body was redesigned. ![]() ![]() ![]() Rear fenders were comletely different. Accurate shape was achieved using Tamiya Epoxy putty. A lot of sanding followed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Using similar procedure I made front fenders. ![]() After first coat of primer I fixed minor scratches using Mr. Surfacer 500. It's easy to apply. After a while, when it dried completely, sanding followed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I used Alclad II grey primer with microfiller. The product is great, it dries pretty quick. ![]() ![]() ![]() To achieve really smooth surface, body was wet-sanded with #2000. ![]() ![]()

Re: Lotus Seven
Wow, that's an interesting subject! I've never seen a Seven with such fenders before, it's going to look amazing when finished.
