'97 Grand Caravan Windshield wiper assembly

Hello my friends: I had to replace the front wiper motor. All is well except I am not sure of the start position of the arms from the motor connection. Could anyone please show me a picture of that assembly with the cowl cover removed? I would really appreciate it. I have asked every where and none of the manuals even mention let alone show that picture.

It may not be much help but I ran into the same problem and just guessed.

I hope you didn't disconnect the arm from the motor shaft.

Yeah I did disconnect it, but how else can you change the motor unless it is disassembled? I had to wait for parts to arrive and then bad weather set in and I
let it set too long. I thought there was only one way to reassemble it but after moving the arms around to get at bolts, I see it can be assembled in an upside down starting position. I would just like to see a pic of the assembly installed so I don't ruin a new motor transmission.

Install the motor, run it,shut it off and let it 'park' itself. Position the wiper arms with all linkages assembled where they need to be on the windshield when parked. That should be where you need to attach the final linkage,'crank' to the motor. Remove the wiper arms from the shafts, mark the shafts with crayon. Run them and shut off several times. See that they return to the same position each time. Reassemble the arms to the shafts. Run 'em again with the arms lifted off the glass to verify proper positioning. HTH
Oh yeah, I recommend you run the wipers from sitting in the drivers seat so you can shut 'em off immediately with the ignition switch if anything goes wrong. Shutting them off with the wiper switch will allow them to complete a cycle and can cause damage if something is wrong. Do not try to stop them with your hands. You'll be surprised how strong the motor/linkages are!
