Feedback on retailers

About a year or so ago I read some negative comments both here and on F1M about one of these two retailers; 'Hobby Link Japan' and 'Hobby Linc.' Trouble is, I don't remember which.
The usual complaints like slow delivery, slow to answer communications and shipping rates.
Now HLJ has a smashing pre-order price on Tammy's !/12 Enzo but I'm hesitant to order.
Any one with actual customer experience with both these sellers, please share your thoughts.
Feedback greatly appreciated.

Re: Feedback on retailers

I have never had a problem with HLJ, didn't try that other one.

I've ordered from both. No problems here.

Thanks Sasa and Racer-so far so good. Maybe things have gotten better from the time I saw those comments.

Re: Feedback on retailers

HLJ's turn-around time used to be slow, but now it's fairly quick. Last November, my order (all in-stock items) was shipped 4 days from the order date. Also, I've used Hobbylinc several times, and have never had any problem either.

International shipping cost is always expensive, but now it's even higher if you try to buy something from Japan because its currency is over rated (or the other currencies are too weak). HLJ has low shipping cost campaigns every so often (like 20% off on FedEx or flat rate of 2000 yen by SAL), so you might want to take advantage of that.

Re: Feedback on retailers

I've used HLJ for probably 10 years and I've never had a single problem. They also do a nice job packaging the kits so they aren't damaged in the mail.

Re: Feedback on retailers

I've used HLJ for many years and have been very happy with their service and prices, both for products and shipping. They used to be slower and the order seemed to spend a while in the 'processing items for shipping' stage. But now they are a lot faster. I choose the cheapest shipping option SAL (surface air lift) and I get my items in a week and a half to the UK. In all the time I've used them I have never had anything go missing, never had any item arrived damaged, in fact their packaging is second to none. I would highly recommend them as reliable and most of all trustworthy.

Re: Feedback on retailers

I've been dealing with HLJ for a decade and have noticed they are now shipping orders quicker than was the case in the past.

Never had an issue and with them using decent quality packaging I've never received a damaged box.

With EMS i can have a package at my door in an average of 3 days

Interesting-if you don't mind, what's the shipping bill like (1/12 size package) from HLJ to you in Boston? I'm just south of you in LI, NY.
