'94 power antenna

The power antenna of my LeSabre stopped working a while ago. It's stuck in the up position and won't go down even if you push on it while the electric motor is running. The motor would continue to cycle when you turned the radio off--the sound of a motor followed by a light 'thunk,' repeated indefinitely.

It was annoying, so I finally unplugged the power connection to it. The radio works fine.

What I'm wondering is whether or not the mechanism is repairable. I'm not going to spend $70 for a new power antenna, but I might try to fix the original, just for the hell of it.

Re: '94 power antenna

What usually happens, is the cable in the mast breaks......there are mast/cable kits......I have repaired about three this way....two worked out, one didn't.....

You can buy replacement units, but they never fit right, and in some cases the wiring harnesses are not correct(they are "universal" units)....

I would recommend going to a junkyard, and get a plug and play replacement...
