Question Headlight and Tail Conversion

I'm planning on doing a tail and head light conversion on my civic. I'm either doing a Mercedes SL front with CLK back, or a M3 head and tails. Anyone know places and/or websites that I could find headlight and taillight assemblies for these cars? Also, about how much would it cost for a conversion, a few thousand right? If you have any other suggestions... post em, I'll look into it

I've heard of conversaions going anywhere from 5-10k. just make sure to checkout the shop throughly before giving them your car, ask to see some of the cars they have done in the past, check out there woek. REmeber you get what you pay for, and you don't wanna have to go and have someone fix a messed up job later.

True.. there's only 2 places that will do conversions around here... but like, mostly skyline and s2000 conversions... I'll do some calling to find a good place and price in O-Town... but finding the headlights and taillights... that's a bitch.

why come in here and insult the guy for what he is trying to do? Not everyone may like it, but he's asking for help, so I'll help him a little if I can by tellig him what I know. And on a side note, I think a properly done conversion can look very nice, although a sloppy one looks awful. Is it worth the money to pay to have it done? Now I'm not even gonna TOUCH that one, lol

well i think dark green integra's are gay...IMO you should've bought one with a different color........SEE! Who cares?! If it ain't pertaining the question at hand here, don't bother posting it dumb mogg....People would much rather read advice, not what you think about conversions.

So i ain't wasting a post, first of all, do you know what its gonna look like? Get it photoshopped or get a pic of what you want to replicate that way you like what you see before you get it. Up to 10k is just rediculous. 5k is still a little high, but yes, you get what you pay for. There's another thread running around here somewhere with a CRX i think with some god-awful benz headlights and the taillights are even worse (i think they're supra taillights, can't remember). Its gonna take a while so prepare to be without your ride for quite a long time. Get it done right the first time, or you'll end up paying for it down the road.

I dn't know what part of florida you are in, but there's a place in Hollywood, FL, called "Mad Mods" that has done a lot of work on cars in Hot Imports and Compacts. There website is www.madmods.com 954-965-8070. Another is Auto Pro Body Shop, in Maimi, FL. They are 305-265, 4903. They did the bodywork and paint on the current cover car on Hot Imprts and Compacts (July 2003), a 97 240 SE with a "Siliva S14.5" conversion. This car has appeared a few times in HCI the last few months in various tech articles, and again has a several pages this month besides just the cover. The 3rd shop I know of in florida did the custom work on a nice looking Civic that was in Honda Tuning in the June 2003 issue (pg.34). This car had some mad custom work done (Accord Blach Housed headlights conversion on an Integra Buddy Club front end, front bumper, core support and hoods, to name a few). They are called "Elite Custom Body & Paint," in Jacksonville. Fl. 904-721-3788. I don't know if that helps, but those are a few shops I know of in florida. It might be of interest to check the magazines out and read the articles, see the cars, and see if you like what you see, before calling the shops, but thats up to you. Good Luck with your custom work. Also, make sure you know exactly how they intend to do the work before they start, besides just seeing examples of there previous work.
