insurance???

im only 15, dont even have a car yet. but i need to kno how our insurance thing works. Is it like, if i were to buy a sporty coupe Eclipse GS with 100k mileage wit a NICE BODY KIT WORK, would the insurance be alot, then after that, i'd buy like a better car-low-mileage-turbo-GSX, after i buy my new car, would the insurance be less if i sold that GS??? Well, all im tryin to say/ask is that would the insurance be high for my first Sporty Coupe GSX if i bought it?

Anything with two doors is considered "sporty" these days (yes even my Yugo) Insurance is dumb - they get to screw everybody, and yes girls pay less, despite getting in more accidents per mile than men (But here's how it works, when men get into accidents they really get into accidents, whereas the majority of accidents girls have are fender-benders when they rush to park at the mall - so while men may have a couple totalled cars in their life span, a woman will have several thousand tiny accidents [unless you're my mom and have a habbit of rear-ending police cars] over the life time of a single car, ammounting to millions in their life span...)

I think female insurance should be higher, I mean all they have to do is have a mood swing and they could kill someone, or if brad pitt died in some movie where they wanted him to marry the hot chick, they could just run off the road crying.

They are actually finding out that females are getting in more accidents and get more tickets... So womens insurance should be higher but its not Lucky me.

Your insurance has nothing to do with mileage of a car unless it is a collector car.

The color thing only has to do with certian cars, and certian insurance companies. Red or yellow third gen RX-7's, porsches, etc... cars like that would be higher because of color. But cars like grand ams, eclipses, etc... they dont care about color.

Also the GSX would be more for insurance than the GS
a. it has a turbo
b. it is newer (i am assuming because you said something about miles)
c. more apt to be broken into or stolen

and since you are a 15 year old guy, you are pretty much screwed no matter what you buy.

When it comes to insurance you can pretty much just bend over and spread them. Go to progressive.com and see what kind of quotes they'd give you. At least you'll some idea of what you're getting into.

Tickets, NO, accidents, YES. And once again, women are much more likely to get in a bunch of fender benders as opposed to totaling a car at high speed, which is what men are more likely to do. Right now men have about TWICE the death rate in single-car collisions...and you tell me OUR insurance should be higher???

It makes perfect sense to me that insurance varies with the type of car you drive. If you were an insurance company, which would you charge more to insure: a white Ford Aspire, or a red Nissan 300zx TT.
Well, duh. You'd charge more for the 300zx, because not ONLY is the car capable of attaining higher speed, but it practically ENCOURAGES the driver to drive in a manner inappropriate for public roads. Not only that, but you have to consider what type of driver is buying each car. The person buying the Aspire is much less likely to street-race, speed (he can't ), dart through traffic, etc...especially when compared to the 300zx driver.

Unfortunately, they can only calculate by accidents and tickets that occur, and who is involved in them....OK, that doesn't make sense.....Let's say some jackass changes lanes without looking, and to avoid the accident the guy next to him swerves, and hits someone else. The jackass gets off scot-free...but the innocent guy gets the ticket and the rate raise. Unfortunately the insurance people can only evaluate accidents you're involved in, and not the ones you successfully avoid or the ones you leave in your wake.
