My airbag light flashes six times when I turn my car on. Then it remains on while I'm driving. I have no clue what this means. Help
?

Re: 2004 Pontiac Sunfire Airbag Light
The flashing is normal, but it should go out. What is not normal is the light staying on. The air bag system has a fault in it and needs to be scanned for codes for further diagnosis.

Re: 2004 Pontiac Sunfire Airbag Light
We scanned for codes already, and nothing came up for airbags. Possible next step?

Re: 2004 Pontiac Sunfire Airbag Light
A odb scanner will not give a airbag code. you need a special scanner. best bet take it to a local shop and they can do it for you. My guy will do it for $30 or less.

Re: 2004 Pontiac Sunfire Airbag Light
As stated, a basic code scanner will not read codes stored in the SDM (sensing and diagnostic module) for the air bag system. If you cannot access the SDM, you cannot read the codes. You will need to find a shop with the ability to check other modules besides the PCM/ECM.
