2001 Sentra trunk doesn't open with remote

Hi,

I have a 2001 Sentra. The trunk won't open with the remote. I can open it with the switch on the dashboard. I appreciate any help

I just got a 2006 Sentra, bought it even though the trunk wouldn't open with the remote. After some fiddlin' around, found out that there is a metal adjustment/tab in the trunk locking mechanism which can be moved to enable/disable the remote lock; should be described in the owner's manual.
