hangs in 5th gear

,93 Ford Escort hangs up in 5th gear--has full slave cylinder travel--no noises or grinding--mounts appear tight--Cannot find any linkage adjustment points[is there any ?] Any sugguestions as to problem ? No other gears involved but reverse is a little difficult sometimes [I know they;
're both on the same shaft ] Thanks for your imput.

Under the car, right below the shifter assembly, there is a bolt and nut that pivots front to back and side to side. I'd remove that bolt and nut, lubricate it really good. Wire brush it down if you have to. Every gear will be nice and smooth. Fight no more with the shifter. Good Luck.
