Out of the Blazer club...
Well, I'm out of the Blazer business. Bought mine new on 30 July, 1997, put 157,797 miles on her, through eight states. Brought home both of my sons from the maternity ward in her..my Labrador took both her first ride home and her final ride to the vets' office in her.
All in all, a great ride. 3 sets of tires, 2 transmissions, 3 ignition switches and a few miscellaneous other things. But the transmission's getting ready to die again, the cat is failing, and the puddles underneath are getting bigger. Can't keep putting $$ into it, wondering what else might break, plus I need something newer that us and the kids can go on the highway in. As of 10 March 2012 ,she's in the possession of my father-in-law, who's a pretty good mechanic. He's gonna fix some things and try to sell. Kinda weird to get attached to a vehicle, I know...but I hope the ol' girl winds up with somebody with the means to get her back in kick-a$$ shape again. And what did I do...went and bought a TrailBlazer...let's see where this goes... -Mike
