2003 Where is the Tachometer?

Why did GM discontinue the Silhouette Tachometer between 2000 to 2003?

I purchased a 2000 Silhouette 6 years ago,now has 340K Km, liked it so much I just bought a 2003. Can I take the instrument cluster from my 2000 and put it in the 2003. I got used to the Tacho, and would miss it.

Will the mileage go with the gauges, or is it stored in the computer?

Is there any security or connector issues that would prevent the swap?
