Question:

I'm now at this point.....unbolded the oil dipstick housing from the front head...
I't's still stuck/hard to turn...do I pull it out from the engine now? or is it also bolded under on the engine?

I ask this because I will put off the head with the exhaust stuff still on it like you did.....

sorry for bad english greets

Today fixed the take off job front head...impossible without unbolding exhaust stuff to clear the dip stick housing...so the exhaust stuff must be removed to pull head off....

Re: Pics of 2000 Venture head gasket job

Hi Van Kleef,
I've done this job as well and when I went to pull my dipstick tube, I broke it off in the hole that's machined into the block. Be very careful here. If it's possible leave it in there and just bend it back out of the way. It is pressed into the block very tightly. I ended up driving the piece that was left down into the oil pan. I bought a magnetic drain plug and on the last oil change, it finally came out, almost 3 years it was in there.

Toni
